Who we represent
Minnesota’s post-secondary educational system stays on track thanks to MAPE members, keeping our campuses running day-to-day. They are our Customized Trainers, IT professionals, Advisors, Admissions and Enrollment, TRiO staff, Student Life, Safety and Security, Business Office staff, Accounting Officers, Lab Specialists, Quality Control Analysts, our Research and Data Analysts, Grant Writers, Financial Aid staff, Social Workers, Equity & Inclusion staff, Tutors, ASL interpreters, and so many more!
Our Mission
The Minnesota State MAPE Meet & Confer team strives to support the establishment and continuation of campus and site meet & confer teams through outreach, networking and membership engagement; we advocate for our member’s rights, listen and respond to issues concerning our members throughout the state, communicate with relevant appointing authorities, and act as a bridge to connect members to relevant and needed resources.
What we do
Our Meet & Confer Team takes the lead on issues facing MAPE members at our 33 colleges and universities, and 54 campuses in our higher education system by the following initiatives and activities:
1. Quarterly Member Meetings & Meet & Confers with system office leaders

Monthly Tele-Town Hall (Frequency based on need) Pre-Meet - In person - 6 hours/Quarterly

Meet & Confer Meeting - In Person - 1.5 hours/Quarterly
2. Member Outreach/Engagement Drives

In person - 3-4 campuses over two days - 18 hours/Semester

Usually once per semester/3 times a year
3. Monthly Tele-Town Hall (Frequency based on need)
- Virtual - 1 hour/Month
4. Monthly Joint Labor Management Meetings
- Virtual - 1 hour/Month
5. Frontline Conference Planning Committee (Co-Planned/Coordinated with AFSCME)

Two Days – Always falls on Wednesday and Thursday the week before Memorial Day

6. Biennial Supplemental Negotiations with System Labor Relations

8-12 Hours of Negotiations with System Office Labor Relations
7. Miscellaneous Member Driven Initiatives (i.e.: Unclassified, Telework, Tuition Waiver, etc.)
- 4 hrs./Quarter +/- (depending on Initiative and agreed upon activities)
