We continue to push for the rights of unclassified employees. MAPE won two new administrative procedures, one for unclassified academic professionals and another for temporary unclassified employees, that improved the process by which employees can challenge their unclassified designation. MAPE also approved a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) for temporary unclassified employees to allow state agencies to offer a shortened probationary period (45 days) when an employee is converted to permanent classified status.
