St. Paul Winter Carnival Sign up
Join MAPE and march together with other unions in the Saint Paul Winter Carnival’s King Boreas Grande Day Parade on Saturday, Jan. 28. Co-sponsored by the LSRC’s AFL-CIO Community Service Program and Greater Twin Cities United Way, the event celebrates the longstanding partnership shared by union members and United Way in service to local communities.
Marchers will gather at the Saint Paul Labor Center at 1 p.m. before leaving together to line up for the 2 p.m. parade. The parade starts on Smith and heads east on West 7th Street to Rice Park. After the parade, participants are invited to enjoy food and family fun back at the labor hall. The annual warm-up party is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota.
Participants are invited to show off their union colors with jackets and banners, and to carry signs proudly proclaiming “Unions and United Way, Partners Serving Our Community.”
Please contact Liz Pearson (Elizabeth.pearson@state.mn.us) to sign up to march in the parade. We are limiting this to the first 20 people and the deadline to sign up is Thursday, Jan. 26.
