The Minnesota Association of Professional Employees’ (MAPE) Political Action Committee (PAC) has endorsed Steve Simon for re-election as Secretary of State.

“As the state’s chief elections officer, Secretary Simon has done an incredible job protecting Minnesotans’ fundamental democratic rights and worked tirelessly with local governments to carry out a presidential election during a pandemic. He continues to ensure that elections in this state are inclusive and secure, and our high voter participation rates are a testament to the confidence Minnesotans have in him,” MAPE President Megan Dayton said.

Simon served in the Minnesota House of Representatives beginning in 2004 before being elected Secretary of State in 2014.

“MAPE members understand the importance of the work done at the Secretary of State’s office, supporting Minnesota businesses and working with election officials in all 87 counties in this state,” said MAPE PAC Board Chair Monica Weber. “We are proud to endorse him in his re-election bid.”

MAPE represents more than 15,000 professional state government employees.
