MAPE's Political Action Committee (PAC) has endorsed Julie Blaha for state auditor.

“From the time she spent growing up in a union household to her years teaching math and science to middle school students, and now her leadership with the state’s AFL-CIO, Julie shares the values of state workers. She understands the challenges and opportunities facing workers and their families across Minnesota, and will continue to fight to improve wages, working conditions and economic development in our communities,” MAPE President Chet Jorgenson said.

Blaha currently serves as the secretary-treasurer of the Minnesota AFL-CIO and is a former president of Anoka-Hennepin Education Minnesota.

“As a labor treasurer, Julie has worked to make sure members have accurate financial information for they can make sound decisions for their union,” said Cathleen Cotter, chair of MAPE’s PAC. “It was immediately clear when we interviewed Julie that she thoroughly understands the duties of the state auditor, and has a concrete plan to begin addressing the challenges the office faces. MAPE is proud to endorse Julie Blaha for auditor.”

MAPE represents more than 14,500 professional state government employees.
