Fisheries series reclassification

After the January 2024 meeting, the DNR-MAPE Meet and Confer team asked for a separate meeting with HR about interim solutions for Fisheries staff. Issues ranged from discrepancies between NR-spec classifications, compensation levels, and inequity in job classifications across Divisions, especially between the Fisheries and Wildlife sections in FAW. A meeting was initially set for May 6, 2024, but was canceled due to a miscommunication. MAPE succeeded in getting a separate meeting on December 9, 2024.

MAPE representatives, along with Fisheries staff and Division leadership, were in attendance. FAW leadership, with assistance from HR, agreed to summarize the Division’s structural changes and history behind the changes and plan to provide a list of supervisor responsibilities. MAPE agreed to draft revised job class specifications and highlight areas where the current job class specifications are outdated. MAPE submitted the revised job class specifications and highlighted errors document to HR and Division leadership on January 29, 2025.
