Area seniors celebrating holidays thanks to Local 1101

Local 1101 members are known for their generosity, especially during the holidays, and even a pandemic couldn’t stop them this year.

Local 1101 President Halie Rostberg recently presented Gifts for Seniors with dozens of sheets, comforters and a $1,000 donation to provide gifts and resources for older adults feeling alone. Gifts for Seniors serves more than 7.000 isolated adults.

Agency partners select and personally deliver gifts to isolated seniors they serve – equally important is the in-person visit accompanying the gifts.

“We couldn’t do this without help from the

community. Alleviating isolation – we can only do this work with support from MAPE and others. We value our friendship with Halie,” Gifts for Seniors Director Carolyn Deters said.
