2023 response to release of Gov. Walz’s budget

Gov. Walz’s budget recognizes what MAPE members know: we are overdue to fully fund state agencies. We are hopeful that this budget will modernize pay scales to keep up with inflation and competitively recruit and retain the best workforce for the people of Minnesota.

Minnesotans will be well-served by much of what is in Gov. Walz’s budget priorities: improved education and other services for children and families, paid family and medical leave and increased funding for public safety. We have many policies and change items to examine, but this is a good place to begin.
