Family Care MnDOT Supplemental Proposals

MAPE entered supplemental negotiations (agency level negotiations) with MnDOT in April 2019. After months of listening sessions and member input, the growing cost of childcare and elder care were identified as issues we wanted to address during supplemental negotiations. We are seeking your input on two of our bigger proposals that together we call “Family Care.”

The first proposal would allow for reimbursement of up to $500 per employee per year for eligible family care expenses, to include but not limited to childcare and senior care for dependent children and adults.

The second proposal would allow, with agency discretion, for parents to bring infants to the workplace up to one year of age or mobility. Similar policies have been enacted at State agencies in Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, North Dakota, Nevada and Washington. In Minnesota, a pilot program for infants in the workplace was previously implemented by the Department of Health.

We need your help in putting real member stories behind these proposals. Please complete the survey below and submit a personal story if you have one. Please note, survey information will only be shared in general (all participants). Name, work email and agency information requested to ensure no duplication of survey data and individual follow-up.

We might want to send out a text update about this campaign in the future, please make sure we can contact you here
