ERC - Know Your Rights Training (VIRTUAL)
Mark your calendar! You're invited to the first of many Monarca Trainings! Please register by March 12.
This virtual event will take place on March 16 from 1-4 p.m., hosted by the Employee Rights Committee. Lost time will be provided thanks to the Union Power Project! We are hoping to provide future opportunities for this training and include in-person or hybrid formats if you are unable to attend this training or prefer in-person trainings. If your local/region would be interested in attending this training, please contact Ariel Johnson at ariel.johnson@fdltcc.edu.
The ERC highly recommends this training, as it covers general topics about workers' Constitutional Rights and how the 4th Amendment protects all workers, including immigrant workers. To learn more about Monarca, visit https://monarcamn.org/about. The Monarca training was approved by the Employee Rights Committee (ERC) and is being offered to address part of the "In Defense of Immigrant Rights" resolution that was passed at the 2025 Delegate Assembly.
The ERC is developing a second, internal training to train stewards and the general membership on contractual rights, policies and labor laws that can be used to protect all MAPE members, while focusing on protecting our immigrant workers and providing training on risk assessment. Stay tuned for more info!
We look forward to spending an afternoon with you!
