Email your State Legislators

Step One:  Find your legislators: 

Find who represents you to call and/or email your State Senator and State Representative.

Step Two: Use your Personal Email

We are acting politically as MAPE, so please use your personal email. 

Step Three: Craft your message

Intro:

  • Provide your name and where you live, so they know you are a constituent.
  • Explain what agency you work for and briefly what you do.
  • Explain why the work you do is important to keep Minnesota running through the pandemic and recovery.

Ask:

  • We need to fully fund MN State system so that our students and staff have the resources needed for the future of our state. 
  • MAPE’s MN State members have kept the infrastructure of campuses across MN going during COVID. Now we need the legislature to support us.
  • Costs don’t go down when enrollment drops and in fact costs have gone up to support distance learning.
  • The tech infrastructure was already in bad need of updating
  • In a changing world, Minnesotans will turn to local campuses to retrain and try to better their lives
  • We need our campuses to be strong for MN workforce to be strong
  • Can I count on you to support me and my fellow state employees with the resources we need so we can continue to provide critical services to Minnesotans?

Step Four: Make sure to include your home address so they know you are a constituent. 

Elected officials take the most time with their constituents. Make sure they know you are one!

As a MAPE member, I want to ensure our state has the resources to meet the needs of Minnesotans. Will you support raising revenue from Minnesotans who can afford to pay a little more- like those earning over $1million/year or $20k a week so that there are resources for all three of these agencies to work together to keep Minnesota safe?
