Contacting new members

Every two weeks you will receive an updated list of your Local. The list reflects anyone who has joined or left the bargaining unit. Typically, Membership Secretaries reach out to anyone new to the bargaining unit. You will also see who has joined as a member. Local Officers should decide who follows up with new members.

After calling them, you can send a follow-up email with additional resources. Here are some sample messages. Edit to your liking.

Welcome to MAPE! We are so glad you joined as a member! It was great chatting with you and hearing about the work you do. I mentioned some resources I would be emailing. They are listed below. I hope to see you at our next Local meeting and please reach out if you need any help navigating MAPE resources.

For members you left a voicemail for:

Welcome to MAPE! My name is _______ and I am the Local _______. We are so glad you have joined as a member. I just left you a voicemail and would love to connect with you, feel free to give me a call back. In the meantime, I wanted to provide some resources to make sure you get connected with some MAPE resources and share information about our upcoming Local meetings. I hope to see you at our next one. Please reach out if I can be of any assistance.
