MAPE members vote to ratify 2025-2027 Tentative Agreement

Publish Date

MAPE members overwhelmingly voted to ratify the 2025-2027 contract with a 6,857 to 1,813 vote, a 79 percent approval by eligible, dues-paying voters. Though the passage marks a significant achievement for us all, it is the lowest approval percentage since we went on strike in 2001 and an indictment on the anti-worker attacks from Gov. Walz.

Despite the uphill battle at the bargaining table, we protected health care, secured across-the-board increases and maintained Paid Parental Leave in the contract. We stood together with our AFSCME siblings and won much-needed stability in a year where MMB brought some of the most aggressive anti-worker proposals we have ever seen.

While this contract does not give us everything we deserve, especially on telework protections, it is a hard-fought foundation for future progress. It’s the result of years of organizing and the unwavering commitment of thousands of members who refused to be overlooked. This contract happened because you showed up and organized.

But this is just the beginning. The real power of our union lies in the strength of our continued organizing. What we build next depends on whether we continue to show up and fight forward together. I am confident that we will, because I believe in the strength of this union and the power of all of you.

In Solidarity,
