MAPE members and their families enjoyed a day at the orchard on Saturday, thanks to their Local 601. Nearly 50 members visited Aamodt’s Apple Farm in Stillwater, toting loved ones to a day of face-painting, goat-petting and apple-picking on what turned out to be an ideal-weathered day for all the fall fun.

“This started as wanting to find a place to pick apples and turned into this family-friendly event for our local,” said Siobhain Rivera, MAPE Local 601 member and volunteer at Saturday’s event.

Sharrilyn Helgertz, Local 601 membership secretary, said she was excited about the response from members, and happy with the successful turnout. Helgertz brought her teenage daughter to help with face painting during the event, which became a popular stop for members and others out enjoying the orchard.

“We had a great day seeing people enjoying the festivities and having some fun with coworkers and their families,” Helgertz said.
