32-Hour work week gaining interest among members
What would you do with an extra eight hours each week?
In the last century, worker productivity has increased by 400%, yet workers have seen few of those gains. Labor unions have always championed the cause for workers to be productive and have more time to thrive.
Several MAPE locals have been researching the 80-100-100 model: 80% of the time, 100% salary, 100% productivity. Hundreds of companies around the world have piloted this 32-hour work week and made the change permanent.
We’ll have a story on what members have learned in next week’s newsletter but, in the meantime, check out a 32-hour Work Week Info Session next Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 12-1 p.m. or attend a 32-hour Work Week Session at a member’s home in West St. Paul on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 6-7:30 p.m.
