Leadership Academy Launch

Date
Friday, October 10, 2025 - 8am-5pm

On October 10, MAPE’s Union Power Project is launching the MAPE Leadership Academy, an organizing infrastructure and training program to equip members to build power in our locals.

We know we need to organize year-round to win what MAPE members want and deserve, so we have developed a program to enable us to take collective action together: MAPE Leadership Academy. The Leadership Academy will start with a three-part training series that will include understanding power and how to build it, developing a vision for what we can make possible and honing the fundamental skills of organizing required to make that vision a reality.

Training 1: Building Relationships

We’ll come together on a shared vision and strategy for what we need to build in the next two years to win what we want and deserve. We’ll equip members with the fundamental skills necessary to build relationships based on trust and solidarity through 1-1 meetings.

Up to five members from each local can attend. These members should be willing to learn, grow and put in some work to move us forward together.

Lost time will be paid for both the training and the organizing work between trainings. If necessary, travel accommodations and childcare will be offered as well.
