SEGIP’s health care proposals include huge increases for members & their families

If SEGIP has its way, MAPE members and their families’ health care premiums could go up as much as 160% and out-of-pocket costs could increase by two-thirds.  

Granted, these are initial, not final, proposals. But nonetheless they are larger concessions than we have seen in many years. The only way to make sure we protect our health insurance is to band together and let MMB know we are ready to fight. We will fight like we always have: together and with solidarity. 

If no changes are made, premiums are projected to go up 16.8% in 2026 and 12.8% in 2027. This is a result of health care inflation and missed projections by MMB’s consultants. It is not fair to balance the budget on the backs of the workers who keep the state running.
