Macalester College Alumni and Friends: Sign Petition to Demand Macalester College Doesn’t Cut MAPE@Mac Staff Benefits

MAPE@Macalester has met 16 times over 10 months to negotiate their first contract, and the administration continues to drag its feet. So much so, MAPE filed an unfair labor practice against the college last month after administration’s delay tactics, failure to provide requested financial information and engaging in unreasonable bargaining demands.  

In April, the faculty approved a resolution for the college to move swiftly to reach fair contracts with the MAPE bargaining unit and with MUWU, the student union.  

Among other unreasonable demands, Macalester administration has also proposed to take away the Dependent Tuition Assistance Program (DTAP) from staff who joined our union. We ask you to please sign this petition to tell the administration that MAPE’s bargaining unit deserves a fair contract that preserves their current access to DTAP benefits.
