"I’m excited to be able to help shape how the state of Minnesota uses technology moving forward,” Church said.
Among their duties, Technology Advisory Committee members advise the state chief information officer on development and implementation of the state information technology plan and critical information technology initiatives for the state.
The Governor’s Blue Ribbon Council on Information Technology, comprised of experts on development and implementation of IT in private and public institutions, provides advice on how to update and maintain the state’s IT systems to ensure that Minnesota residents and businesses who interact with the state receive the best possible service.
“It’s important that MAPE voices are heard as the committee and council make recommendations to the governor on ways to make IT better for the state, and since these decisions affect MAPE employees, it’s essential that our voices are heard,” Church said.
Church has been active with MAPE since she began state service in 2006 at the Dept. of Human Services. She currently serves on the MNIT Meet and Confer team and is a Local 1102 steward. She previously served as Region 2 Director, president of Locals 201 and 2101 and member of the MAPE PAC.
