Local 1301 Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, January 21, 12:00 – 1:00 pm.

9 members were present and business agent Caitlin Reid.

The meeting was called to order by Local 1301 President Truda B. at 12:09 pm. Introductions were made.

 

Minutes:

Previous minutes approved and will be on the MAPE website.

 

Adoption of Agenda:

Cara H. made a motion to adopt the agenda with the addition of agenda items: , motion seconded by Phil K. and approved.

 

Membership:

Moved to the business agent report.

 

Old Business:

Local 1301 Holiday Party

Invitations went out to the membership. There may be an issue with the emails so please print out the invite and post it at your worksites.

The venue has been secured.

Headcount needs to be submitted 5 days before the event.

 

New Business:

MinnState Frontline Conference has requested that our local donate money for prizes. Tabling the decision until March 2020.

Two organizations have been selected for charitable donations of $500 each. The Jeremiah Program and the Campus Cupboard at ARCC/ATC (all campuses). Checks will be presented during the Holiday Party on Friday, February 21.

 

Regional Director Report:

The reports are on the MAPE website, search for Regional Director Report.

 

Business Agent: Cailtin R.

The membership count is 394 (74%).

Strong new employee orientations at DHS and Revenue.

This is an election year for the local officers and statewide positions including the statewide president. Nominations begin in February.

Director elections will be next year.

Hennepin Technical College, Eden Prairie campus, is now part of local 1301. Welcome! Revenue (collections) has a workgroup formed around student loan reimbursement.

 

Workplace Issues:

 

Revenue, performance reviews are related to the number of audits completed. A minimum number of audits is a condition for satisfactory performance reviews. Audits take 10 hours longer to complete in 2019 compared to past years. This increase in time is not reflected in the performance review process.

Revenue, members have concerns about inconsistent policies are around “accidental browsing”
