The legislature met for the seventh special session on Monday as Governor Tim Walz extended the peacetime emergency. The legislature used the opportunity to pass a $216.6 million relief package for businesses and workers impacted by the COVID pandemic, including a 13-week extension of unemployment benefits.
Also passed was HF 19, a bill that included technical corrections to 2019 health and human services appropriations, permitted certified community behavioral health clinics to receive reimbursements from the state while Minnesota seeks federal approval to cover their services as Medicaid state plan services, and clarifying language requiring assisted living facilities to be licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health.
