Former Austin resident takes oath of office as
MAPE’s new Statewide President
SHOREVIEW -- Former Austin resident Chet Jorgenson took the oath of office today (Friday) as the new Statewide President of the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees (MAPE).
Jorgenson grew up in Austin. He is a graduate of Austin High School and Riverland Community College in Austin.
“It will be an exciting challenge,” Jorgenson said. “MAPE represents professional employees from all walks of life and from all across the state. MAPE members help make this state a bit better place to live, work and play for everyone.”
Jorgenson has a bachelor’s in political science from Macalester College and a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law, both in St. Paul . Jorgenson works for the Minnesota Department of Commerce, where he regulates the financial services industry. He works in the securities, insurance and time share areas.
Jorgenson and his wife, Vanessa, live on a small farm north of Stillwater with their son Ben, who is 9.
MAPE is a strong voice for nearly 12,000 professional employees who work for the State of Minnesota.
