Meet & Confer

February 28, 2008

The quarterly Meet & Confer was held with SCSU management at 1:00 p.m.

Present at that meeting was: Sheila Pokorny, Steve Ludwig, David Sikes, Dennis Murphy, Linda Carr, Mary Bongers, Kris Larson.  

The employer updated us on the bonding session and that the Senate Bill that was introduced had more in it than the Governor had proposed. The House has not presented their bill yet.  

The employer also shared with us a very detailed draft 2008/2009 budget that if anyone is interested in can be found at:

The Union requested if the chair of the Meet & Confer, currently David Sikes, could be provided with new MAPE hires, because of the general lag time in the State’s notice to MAPE Central. We would like to personally set up a meeting with them on campus. The employer said that David would start getting those.  

The Union then asked for clarification on: If the campus had delegated authority when it comes to processing reallocations. It was explained that the paperwork goes through the campus’s HR office, but the Delegated Authority for making the determination on whether or not a reallocation is granted or not is MnSCU Central Office. DOER has delegated the authority to MnSCU but not to the individual campuses.
