Treasurer’s Report
Budget for next year was discussed. Motion made and passed to approve next year’s budget of $8,150.
Regional Director Report
Next meeting 12/8.
Business Agent’s Report
Negotiation team is meeting today. This is their second meeting.
Final touches on survey will be done today. Expect in the mail in the next couple of weeks. Return by 12/18.
Money spent on commercials that will appear on WCCO about MAPE’s principles and objectives. Wcco, channel 4, and Channel 9 are union stations.
IRS mileage will increase on 1/1/07 to 48.5 cents from the previous 44.5 cents.
George’s on Plato (old Awada’s)- Do not patronize. New owners terminated agreements with their local union.
As of 10/30/06 Minute Clinics are available thru our insurance. $10 co-pay and the first money deductible is waived.
State Surplus – will it impact negotiations? The Unions hope it will but in the past the state has always said the extra money is already earmarked for something else. Hopefully it will be a positive but not sure at this time.
Chief Steward Report
1 new grievance and 2 settled at Vets.
Compiling issues that need to be included in the new contract (steward’s issues). If you have anything to be included, talk to Ward or Bob.
Brian Bergson (MAPE lobbyist)
Election – feels like we won the battle but lost the war (governor).
Discussion on this legislative session and what MAPE hopes to accomplish.
Thank you for all who voted and helped get MAPE members educated. Bob spent a lot of time working on the phone bank and other election related tasks and should be commended for his great effort.

104 swing voters convinced
1,000 reminder phone calls
73% of PAC endorsed candidates won
90% of candidates who the PAC gave money to won.
Sid Zochert won the $20 door prize.
