ANNOUNCEMENTS.
- The on-line open enrollment period is November 5 - 18. This year, employees may change health carriers, add or drop dependent coverage, enroll or increase long-term disability coverage, and enroll in pre-tax accounts. For more information, go to www.mape.org/currentnews/openenroll101708.asp. Use “State of Minnesota” for company name.
- MAPE hopes to mail the contract negotiations survey to your home this month. This is your opportunity to tell the Negotiations Committee what you want in the contract. In 2006, only 25 percent were returned.
- Treasurer Helen Francomb is leaving Local 0201. Nominations are open to fill the vacancy. If you wish to nominate yourself or another member, e-mail the local officers by December 8. If there is more than one candidate, an election will be held at the January 7 & 8 meeting.
- Volunteers are needed to serve on the Local Negotiations Committee. This committee provides communications between local members and our Negotiations Committee representative, Patrick O’Leary. To volunteer, or for more information, contact Patrick O’Leary.

- Three volunteers are needed to serve on the local’s committee to audit the checkbook in January. The local will pay lost time for this 1- to 2-hour effort. To volunteer, or for more information, contact Helen Francomb.
- If you have resolution ideas for next year’s Delegate Assembly, it is recommended that you begin drafting them now. Once you have a draft, contact the Constitution and Rules Committee for suggestions on how to make your resolution “workable” for presentation at the Assembly. Once a draft meets the standards of the committee, it can be presented to the local for approval to be taken to the Delegate Assembly in September 2009. Please go to the MAPE Web site, click on “Committees,” then click on “Delegate Assembly” for more information.
- (Lafayette) Any Local 0201 member who signs up two new members before January 1 will be given a MAPE tote bag. Applications and new member packets are available from local officers and stewards.
