President's Report –
- Lower copay / call from health coach - In order to get the lower office copay, state employees were asked to take the health assessment and agree to a follow-up call from a health coach.
- Nonpartisan caucus training is Jan. 29 at MAPE - Team MAPE will be hosting non-partisan caucus training at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, exactly one week before statewide precinct caucuses. The training will be held at MAPE in Shoreview ( 3460 Lexington Ave N ). Go to this link to register for caucus training: http://www.teammape.org/caucus.html
- MAPE Financial Education Program and Capital Street will hold two custom designed courses for MAPE members “Passport to Retirement” and “The Complete Financial Management Workshop” on Thursday March 20th and Thursday March 27th between 5:00 and 8:00 PM at the Orville Freeman Health-Ag Building, 625 Robert Street No, St. Paul, MN. There are several options for enrollment:

Director's Report – Kathy Davids provided a summary of information from the recent Board of Directors meeting held on Jan. 11, 2008 .
MAPE Day on the Hill will be March 12, 2008 , in the Great Hall at the State Capitol.
Members from all over the state will converge in St. Paul on that day to learn about important legislative issues and lobby their hometown legislators. Day on the Hill is a crucial part of MAPE’s lobbying efforts. This year we will be working to get our contract passed early in the session and advocating for workforce planning legislation.
Day on the Hill will kick-off with a morning welcome reception including coffee, speeches from key elected officials and a run-down of the important issues facing MAPE during the legislative session.
MAPE members will then split up to have one-on-one meetings with their elected officials. Legislator appointments give MAPE members a chance to discuss issues of importance to them and their families; like workforce planning and pay equity, universal single-payer health care, pension security and job outsourcing.

Membership Update – Membership totals hold at approx. 65% - 215 total member, 140 full and 75 fairshare.
